Independent engineering and services firm SengS has been awarded new North Sea contracts worth £500,000 as the business continues to capitalise on opportunities presented by the low oil price.

The Ellon-based company, which provides engineering, testing, control and hydraulic systems and tooling to the energy industry, has agreed deals with two operators and two international service companies in the past three months.

2016 08 16 094315The scope of work will see SengS design and manufacture a jacket centraliser for an offshore platform; provide mechanical services and pressure testing for a topsides project; design and manufacture remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) intervention tooling for an inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) project; test wellhead equipment with the company’s own external water test tank; and, perform pressure testing and a system integration test (SIT) for a subsea well intervention system.

SengS also won Business Success Under Three Years at the 2014 Elevator Awards.

Based at the Balmacassie Commercial Park in Ellon, SengS (Subsea Engineering Solutions Ltd) is an independent engineering and services company which provides engineering, testing, control and hydraulic systems and tooling to the energy industry

The company has invested more than £3.5million over the past two years in developing its 9,817 sq ft test facility. This included a recent £250,000 investment to enhance its existing pressure testing capability with the addition of a custom-built 60ft test rig and a 7.8m diameter x 5.8m high external water test tank.

Established in 2012, SengS has successfully delivered more than 400 projects across multiple disciplines for clients in the North Sea, Scandinavia, the Middle East and North Africa. The company currently employs 17 people.
