EthosEnergy has been awarded two multi-million dollar subcontracts by Siemens Korea (Siemens Ltd Seoul) for work at Taean and Dangjin power plants.

The subcontracts are for a generator stator rewind and upgrade for units 3 and 4 at the Taean Power Plant and Unit 1, 2 and 3 at the Dangjin Power Plant.

2017 12 18 072734Lim, HyungJong from Siemens Ltd Seoul said, “EthosEnergy’s successful previous projects completed in South Korea along with their competitive design proposal and extensive capabilities made them our top choice for this project. They have completed stator rewind projects at Boryeong Power Plant and Taean Power Plant in the past.

“By offering the latest design upgrade, the work will increase the output of our generators by 8% from 612MVA up to 660MVA, which will keep the plant running for longer.”

Fryderyk Zebik, President of EthosEnergy Poland S.A., said, “Our ability to rewind and upgrade the generators at both power plants in the Korean market including the implementation of upgraded design solutions, will enhance operations, and prove to them we were the best choice for this project.

“Increasing the output of the generators will extend the useful running life of both the Taean and Dangjin power plants, maximising return on their investment.”
