New Semenyih Service Center offers 24/7 support to local industry Sulzer has invested in a new service center in Malaysia to offer increased support to local industry, most notably the oil and gas sector. The facility in Semenyih is the 19th that Sulzer operates in the Asia-Pacific region and will offer specialist support for all types of pumps, turbomachinery and electric motors.
Reducing life-cycle costs is a key aspect underpinning Sulzer’s maintenance support ethos through offering local repair and engineering facilities that deliver a high-quality service quickly. As specialists in high energy pumps, compressors, turbines, motors and generators, Sulzer’s new purpose-built service center will deliver maintenance and repair projects that improve reliability and performance.
With many customers involved in the oil and gas sector, the Semenyih Service Center is accredited for API 610 and has a framework agreement with the major oil company in Malaysia. The new facility will bring Sulzer’s global technology-based solutions to the local area, offering high quality repairs for all types of rotating equipment.
Simon Roberts, Head of Pump Services for Sulzer in South-East Asia explains: “In addition to the specialist workshop facilities, Sulzer has also expanded the field service teams, enabling a faster response to customers. The additional field engineering allows us to provide on-site troubleshooting and engineering advice on retrofit and upgrade programs as well as solutions for rotating equipment from any manufacturer.”
As experts in pump technology and manufacturing Sulzer retains the ability to develop retrofit projects, adjusting pump performance to current applications and maintaining optimum efficiency. Such projects are often used to handle the changing production profile in the oil sector as well as adapting existing assets to new applications, retrofits maximize both performance and efficiency.
Sulzer’s local engineers have the expertise and high-level engineering capability to scope the design for retrofit projects and provide the necessary information required by the manufacturing site to develop the full-scale designs and engineering drawings. These are used by cutting-edge machine tools to create new, precision components that will fit perfectly and deliver optimum performance for years to come.
The Semenyih Service Center is the gateway for local industry to access the wider capabilities of the global Sulzer service network, which has over 100 locations. They provide a comprehensive service portfolio for all rotating equipment, which also includes additive manufacturing, blade design and manufacturing for all types of turbines as well as high-voltage coil manufacturing for electrical rotating equipment.
